5 Tips For Working From Home

1. Location, location, location

Try to find a dedicated and comfortable spot to work that you can associate with your job and leave when you’re off the clock.

2. Bring the outdoors in

If you don't have any greens in your designated work from home location, consider adding some indoor plants to create a more inviting and creative space. Discover

some ways to freshen up your home décor with a touch of green here.

3. Repurpose your commute

A major perk of working from home is ditching the commute. Use this time instead for a workout, self-renewal, or family time.

4. Show your face

When possible, use video to help create more face to face interactions.

Checkout video conferencing resources such as Zoom, BlueJeans, Skype, or Lifesize.

5. Create lists

Every morning, create a list of what you will deliver by the end of the day. If it’s helpful, scribble these goals down the night before so you can dive straight into work in the morning.

If you don't have a physical notepad handy, try the "Google Keep" feature in G Suite. Keep offers a variety of tools for taking notes, including text, lists, images, and audio.

Support your favorite local restaurants

See which DC restaurants are still delivering and preparing take out for their customers.

Give Back

While staying home is the best thing you can do to help right now, there are plenty of other options to make a difference in your community.

From donating supplies to virtually tipping your favorite bartender, check out this list of ways to give back.

Support Your Favorite Bookstores

Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe is offering delivery of select popular titles through the Postmates app, which means you can order takeout and a short story collection all at once!

One More Page Books is a store in Arlington that is offering free curbside pickup and free delivery to homes in North Arlington, Falls Church, and McLean.
